Main component of the affordable and high performance Radio Controller Board RCB128RFA1 V6.3.1 is a 2.4 GHz radio transceiver ATmega128RFA1
[
datasheet] which has been recently launched by Atmel. It is the single chip solution of a 8Bit-AVR microcontroller.
The Radio Controller Board RCB128RFA1 V6.3.1 is intended for wireless solutions in accordance with the standard IEEE 802.15.4 and for ZigBee
® / 6LoWPAN / RF4CE applications.
The transmitting power of the module is +2,5 dBM and its receiving sensitivity is -104 dBm. The module has no integrated antenna, instead, it has an SMA interface for an external antenna.
The module's 60 pin interface allows for flexible operation and use of all of the ATmega128RFA1 components and because of this, quick realization of different tasks. High memory capacity is given by a 1 kBit Serial EEPROM.
Power is supplied either by 2 AAA batteries or the 60 pin interface and operates in the range of 1.8..3.6 VDC. Energy consumption is approximately 18 mA in sending and receiving mode and less than 2 µA in standby. The module features a 32 kHz low power timer.
The Radio Controller Board RCB128RFA1 V6.3.1 is certified according to
ETSI and
FCC (Part-15).
Accessories:
Recommended connectors 30-pin:
