MST32 CAN connects the CAN fieldbus with MST32 modules and supports all CAN baud rates up to 1 MBaud.

The MST32 CAN module can be used in two ways:
a) as an MST32 module bus master
b) as an MST32 module bus slave

In the case of a), a passive bus coupler is used for up to 64 MST32 modules. MST32 CAN must be the second module after the power adapter and only one MST32 CAN module is allowed.
The bus coupler recognizes the connected module upon starting, automatically creates a configuration and organizes the in- and outputs of the I/O module to the process image data.

In the case of b), an MST32 module bus master, such as CPU-ETH, must be located to the left of the power adapter. MST32 CAN recognizes its bus activities and works as a module bus slave. The module bus master sends its CAN configuration data, and in this configuration it is possible to line up multiple MST32 CANs.

Sending and receiving activity is signalized using LEDs.
