Internships / diploma projects

 

We are looking for committed students for internships, bachelor, master and diploma projects.

 

In close cooperation with the HTW Dresden and the TU Dresden we are primary working on issues such as embedded systems with processors from AVR to ARM, with and without operating system (embedded RTOS, Linux, ...) with a special focus on wireless sensor networks.

We address different standards such as e.g. ZigBee and 6LoWPAN but also with completely independent task specific protocols. For the data visualization of a wireless sensor network there are of course also gateways with embedded Linux, WiFi and Ethernet and the whole range of web applications such as PHP, SQL, SQLLite and PC as well as smartphone apps. As programming languages C, C++, Java and PHP as well as Qt Framework are applied.

IEEE 802.15.4 MAC

  • Low-level wireless applications for star networks
  • Porting of existing applications to new platforms
  • Filing/classification of sensor data in SQL, SQLLite databases
  • Visualization of network and sensor data using web technologies, Qt applications and on smartphones

6LoWPAN sensor networks

  • COAP on sensor, router and gateway nodes
  • IPSec on sensor, router and gateway nodes
  • RPL routing protocol on sensor, router and gateway nodes
  • Filing/classification of sensor data in SQL, SQLLite databases
  • Visualization of network and sensor data using web technologies, Qt applications and on smartphones

Sensor networks with ZigBee

  • Standard compliant devices for building automation and automation technology as well as the Light Link Profile
  • Battery driven devices (low power)
  • Simple ZigBee based, but manufacturer-specific protocols
  • Filing/classification of sensor data in SQL, SQLLite databases
  • Visualization of network and sensor data using web technologies, Qt applications and to smartphones
