With RaspBee dresden elektronik is bringing an add-on for the popular Raspberry Pi Single Board Computer onto the market. This add-on module gives Raspberry fans an easy way to access the world of ZigBee. The included software creates a LAN-ZigBee Gateway using the combination of Raspberry and RaspBee, opening up a further possibility to access dresden elektronik’s comfortable wireless light control system. 

RaspBee provides interesting software interfaces which allow for developing custom software components to communicate with ZigBee devices of several profiles on different levels.

The premium version comes pre-flashed with a ZigBee firmware.

Development of custom firmware is strongly encouraged. An port for the MAC protocol stack is provided, add-ons for other popular protocol stacks follow soon. 

Together with the versatile ZigBee software deCONZ the Raspberry Pi becomes a wireless light control center. More information related to deCONZ as well as an option for downloading the firmware can be found here.


The RaspBee is a reference design for the deRFmega256-23M12. It is CE and ETSI compliant and FCC certified.
